Movie Summary

              J.D Salinger's award-winning novel The Catcher in the Rye is brought to life as it's transformed in to a movie that will satisfy all fans of this well acclaimed book. Holden Caulfield, a seventeen year old boy from New York, tells the story of how the adult-world slowly drove him insane. Holden is unable to accept the reality of growing up and while he is becoming an adult himself he is unhappy with what he will represent. After failing four out of five of his classes, he is kicked out of his school, Pencey Prep, and his story begins. His little sister, Pheobe, is his only source of happiness and he struggles to live a happy life despite all the baggage he has to live with. The movie is a traditional version of the novel and stays true to the way it was written in order to keep with Salinger's origninal intentions for the novel.
